Hello I am hardly a traffic law violator by any stretch but was put in a unfamiliar sitiation. I have never seen a ramp meter(lights before onramps) before and was not sure what to do.
Here is the sitaution.. the car in front of me did not come to a complete stop and actually ran the light, and had turned green on my approach. I read the sign which is 1 car per green light. So I stopped. It had turned red again but this time longer than the previous 3 cars in front of me which was instantaneous. After about 10 sec I ran the light thinking the last green was my light and that I had confused the system. In hindsight I might have been wrong. Now will I get a ticket for this especially with all that flashing which Im assuming is a camera.
Thanks BTW this is in NY.

Most of them have a camera near by and yes you could recieve a ticket. You did the right thing but I'm not so sure you confused the system. You may not know about the ticket untill the next issue with your reg of that vehicle. In the case that the camera was not there or malfunctioned, you have nothing to worry about.

The vast majority of them have a cam close by and yes you could receive a ticket. You made a best choice yet I am not entirely certain you confounded the framework. In the case that the cam was not there or broken you don’t have anything to stress over.
