The owls are big because there's some "wisdom" you should be paying attention to--some obvious answer to a question you have during your waking hours, which you are ignoring. You are pushing it aside because it comes from what seems to you to be an insignificant source (the baby owls), such as a child, a co-worker you don't respect much, an ex-boyfriend you'd rather dismiss, etc.
