yes.....aj smith is obviously one of the best. He has built one of the most talented teams in the nfl. Castillo was taking steriods for a elbow injury in college and that hasn't been an issue in the pros and shawne merriman is one of the best linebackers in the league. He got suspended and still played at a high level afterwards. Those two are key pieces to the chargers D and i think they are fortunate to have those two. Drew Brees was not traded, he was released. They already had money invested in rivers and his shoulder injury made the decision that much easier. I think what prevented them from beating the pats is bad choices by the coach and the players that kept adding up in the game.

They have a great GM. They have one of the most talented teams in the NFL. Yes, Drew Brees was good, but they have about as good or better of a quarterback with Rivers. And if you can trade Brees off and gett good players in return then you're doing pretty damn good as a GM. From what I saw, Merriman was pretty good.

If Marty Schottenheimer can't get the job done, then fire him and make Cam Cameron the coach. I really don't think you want to change much with the team. Especially when you just had the best regular season record in the entire NFL. If you make Cam Cameron the head coach, the coaching staff should stay primarily the same since he is an assistant for San Diego and you stop the risk of losing him to another team. If you bring in a new head coach from somewhere else, that normally means a whole new coaching staff and that could ruin San Diego's team.

What killed the team was that they didn't play the same way they did in the regular season. And that is the coach's fault. If what you do works, then stick to it. Don't start changing things in the play-offs.

^Yeah we did play the same way - Marty didn't fumble that punt or INT or headbutt a guy. A few select players lost the game for LT.

I do believed marty is jinxed ---but if we couldn't get Cam or Wade --then we shouldn't fire marty (as i agree w/coach changes setting teams back)
