I like to play with my avatar, but it has the same face and hair color all the time.
Some people do it when they're in trouble, or as an attempt to fool someone, or because someone ITRW has gotten turned on to Yahoo! Answers and they want to hide. I have a photographic memory, so it seldom fools me (I think.)

I think it changes when people switch from one personality to another. My avatar changed like once and that was when I died my hair. And my name is just my name. I don't have any fancy name. I guess it makes those people cooler than me.

I guess they get bored with having the same thing all the time...I guess the same reason Yahoo Answers change there background..It's good to try something new every once in a while.

I change my avatar when I feel like it but she always looks like me just my different hairstyles and clothes.

Because they want different names, so that if they answered anything stupidly...(hope that's how you spell it)....they can just "re-new" their views.
