They are in the public domain, and fans love them, a question like who do like, or who are you dating is not that personal of a question.

well this question lies between a yes and no answer as some celebrities and famous figures consider personal life as i shouldnt be said to public and vise versa others do like but most dont i guess.
in my opinion all celebrities should say some stuff about their lives but not everything

I think that she isn't a celebrity like Paris Hilton who need the public interest in order to succeed, Sharapova definitely benefits from public interest and earns money out of it, but at the end of the day her job is a tennis player and she wants to turn the public attention towards her achievements in tennis.
And besides that, a little mystery makes people more interested, don't U think?

freedom of life liberty and happiness, if it pleases her not to tell then that is her right, the public did not swing that tennis raquet at that ball, she did it all by herself.

if who are you dating is not a personal question then i wish youd tell me what is

My cousin John Tucker from Arkansas would never tell you that he has been dating her for six months because that is private personal information.

Ooops

I've read a couple of rumors that she and Andy Roddick are dating...but who knows if thats true! Anyways, I really think that its upto her whether or not if she wants to keep her personal life private. I mean if she keeps on talking about who she's dating that would just distract everyone from what she's really famous for...playing tennis!

I disagree. She wants to play tennis. People want to watch. Even if people weren't watching, she would still play tennis. Because all of these people want to come watch her, suddenly, she has no privacy at all? That's BS.

What is suddenly secretaries were popular and everyone wanted to come watch secretaries work. Should they have to answer questions about their private lives?

You're right, public pays her income, but we pay for her tennis-qualities, not for details on her private live.
So IMHO I don't think she has any obligation at all to tell us if and who she's dating.

No if they want to have a private life that is their right. Who they date has no revelancy to their game. Her talent makes they dollars.
