Unfortunately, all sizes are not equal. There are no real guidelines assigned. It all depends and the make, designer, fabric and quality of the garment. I can wear sizes from 4-14. There is also the distinction of Juniors and Misses in the U.S. Misses are a bit more forgiving, juniors are cut for lithe, young bods. I am currently 9 months pregnant, but generally I am 5'4" and weigh approx. 160 lbs. I am short waisted (torso) and long legged (31"), so everything should always be tried on. If you have a belly, avoid pleats and gathering: hips, avoid tapered legs
and if you are uncomfortable trying on at stores...buy them, try them on at home and return if necessary. Good Luck!

If you are 5 feet tall you should shop in the petite sections of the clothing stores you go to. "Petite" means short, not thin like some people think, and petite sizes can fit many different body shapes.

Take your measurements for the bust, waist and hips. You can't determine clothes size by weight. HTH.

Try Lane Bryant. You may have to have some alterations done.
