Nope, I love the show. I can't tell if you are male or female, but most males don't like american idol. I guess it's a chic thing, for the most part!

I hear ya buddy. Can't stand it. It's a p!ss-poor excuse for entertainment. The people can't sing at all except for a very few but to hear them you have to sit through everything else. Personally, I hate the music too - more of a classic rock guy myself. The Rockstar shows were far better from that perspective and at least they already had the field narrowed down to 16 people who could sing and actually had some stage presence - decent entertainers generally. Not to mention that they were actual bands (INXS a bit more so than Supernova) looking for a singer vs 3 has-beens/never-were's looking for some sucker to throw into a studio - most likely for their own benefit more than the winner's. Do you think the producers don't have a chunk of the royalties coming their way from the winner's record sales etc? There's no way they're doing this out of the goodness of their heart.
I could go on but I'm sure you get the point. American Idol blows huge. At least there are a number of decent shows on to watch instead of that crap.
Now, if only Hollywood could grow some nards and put out something interesting instead of re-makes of older movies, sequels and movie versions of tv shows...

It's funny to watch at the beginning when all the people who can't sing try out. But afterwards theres just a lot of Simon being mean and a lot of overreacting and tears. The only part I watch after the beginning is when they have the final winner announced and have them sing.

I totally loathe that show. I can't beleive how many people actually waste there money calling in to it let alone watch it.
It's like The Gong show but not as funny....and all the so-called talent that comes out of it is mediocre at best.

I'm not addicted but I DO think watching all the horrible people who think they can sing make attempts singing. I just find them so funny. I would like if Simon or someone acturaly said to the somewhat good ones take singing leassons.

I don’t watch it and I won’t let my kids watch it either.
The entire show was developed to demean and humiliate most of the contestants. I don’t find that entertaining and can’t figure out why some parents let their kids watch it.

I agree with you. I just don't understand the hype about it, it's not that great. The only contest show like that that I can watch is the Bachelor and I just started watching it this past season. Shows like that just don't interest me!!

I don't waste my time on that or any other "reality" show. The only reality show I look at for awhile is Ted Nugents. I don't watch any of the so-called popular shows. I have better things to do.
