i'm so sorry to hear that your cousin didn't make it! there are many reasons premature babies could die.
if an operation was necessary, it doesn't mean the hospital messed up, it could be that your cousin wasn't developed enough to live on his own. without more details, it's hard to answer.
losing a baby is never easy, whether or not they are premature... i'll be keeping your family in my prayers.

I also had a premature baby that died and it was after surgery for her intestines which were very immature. There are alot of problems with preemies that I didn't know about until I had one.

no .. it may be that nothing went wrong.. but what you ave to understand is that premature babies are weaker than babies born near thier expected date. thats becasue they have gone into labour before developing enough in th womb.... they may have heart defects because of the stress that being born early can cause or anything else (that was just an example)

Depends on how premature, but many times, for instance, the lungs aren't formed enough to allow the baby to breath on their own.
Sorry to hear about your loss.

premature babies die quickly becos they are premature just as the name implies, they are not mature enough like a normal baby hence they are more prone to infections and baterias, moreover there immune system is very low to fight germs.
