Yes - it works great for my 7-month-old. He was fussy and jerky and obviously in pain during feedings before we started him on it and now feeding go very smoothly.
I don't think it's supposed to help with spitting up as someone above suggested - it's just supposed to increase their comfort by decreasing the acid in their digestive tract.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND it if the doc thinks reflux is the problem.

My child also had acid reflux and he was prescribed Zantac. The thing is, he's 9 months now and zantac helped a little, but didn't make it go away. It never got much better until I started him on solids. If he's 4 months, I would try introducing some 1st foods to him. It will definitely help.

Yes,my 5 month old son has been on it for 3 days now,my doctor says he has silent acid reflux,he does not spit up but is fussy eating, only eats 1,2 if i am lucky 3 oz per feeding,a total 15 to 20 oz per day.I see a bit of a difference but not enough to make me totally happy right now.
Pediatritians would not prescribe Zantac to babys if they knew it would be harmful, this what they do for a living.

Yes, it is very common for babies with GERD. For the person who says it is crap and they will just grow out of it obviously knows nothing about it. Not every baby grows out of it and if it is serious enough it can cause other problems such as low weight gain, destroy the esophagus, and breathing problems that can cause apnea episodes and cessation of breathing. I work in the medical field and have had three children with it so I know a little bit about it. I've seen children with esophagitis so bad it is heartbreaking to know it could have been avoided if something would have been done.

Its becoming common practice to give infants antacid medications.
Its the biggest load of bull crap i've ever heard of. Babies spit up all the time, they have reflux, they cry, and they out grow it after a year or so. Medicating them is a really poor answer to the problem. Especially with such strong medications as zantac.
their bodies are TINY, their stomachs are barely able to hold and digest the amount of food used for growth, and their little esophagus' are just as sensitive as ever. Often babies are born with slightly under developed digestive systems. They have to GROW to fix that problem. Smaller feedings, and keeping a baby upright are often enough to solve the issue until the baby grows more.
I really cannot stand doctors.

yes, my son took it from when he was just a few months old up until he was able to sit up by himself due to reflux problems. there is a liquid version that they give to kids, we just added it in with his formula when we gave him his bottlle. it really helped alot.
