I am not having a funeral but I want a party after my ashes go in the ground near dad. If I kick the bucket in the winter, they got to wait and have the party in the summer.
They have a list of songs I want already, nothing like being prepared:
Here are a few:
Another one bites the Dust: queen
Dust in the Wind, Kansas
Tears in Heaven, Eric Clapton
Wild Horses, the stones
Some old Irish $H!T
Some newer Irish $H!T but older U2
TESSIE by the Drop Kick Murphy's it Rocks
Where Eagles Soar
Some Chris LeDeoux
Some George Strait
Then the rest is mostly music from my youth the late 60's 70's and 80's and some GnR
Got it planned 'cause ya can't cheat death and it's gonna be done my way. Not paying some guy to lay me out and have people stare at my dead body. Nope spend the money on a rockin Irish Wake minus the body.
So you see it can't be one song at the PARTY!!!

Something to make people smile, maybe the theme song from "Dirty Dancing". Should get a few feet tapping. I want people to know I enjoyed my life. The Grizzly Addams song was a big favorite of mine. I bought it as a vinyl and wore it out

Well that depends really. If I get cremated I'll go for Bombtrack from Rage Against the Machine with the soothing words, "Burn, burn yes you're gonna burn." Or the obvious Firestarter from the Prodigy but that's probably far too obvious. And technically I'm not the one starting the fire.
If I get buried It has to be Going Underground by the Jam

"Bittersweet Symphony" by The Verve because it's very violin-y, which I think appropriate for a funeral and bittersweet is a word that explains the me a lot.
"All These Things I've Done" by The Killers which is pretty self explanatory.
"Chicago" by Sufjan Stevens because the 'all things go, all things grow' tells my family that just because I'm going does not mean everything will stop growing.
"How To Be Dead" by Snow Patrol which is also self explanatory.
"I Wasn't Prepared" by Eisley if I wasn't prepared for my death.
And "Ghost of You" by My Chemical Romance, another one that speaks for itself.
If I had to pick one, it would probably be "All These Things I've Done" because I love that song and it says a lot, or "Chicago" by Sufjan Stevens for the same reason :]
