I think they should have kept the thumbs down but show who gave them too you

Well, now ONLY people who like your question have a “say” [when it comes to giving a star], not the ones who don’t like your question. In turn, they can’t express that they don’t like your question by giving a thumbs-down. With the stars, you can actually see who gave you one!

Now, what they say in their answer is a different story...

you can know that ur question was thumbed up before clicking on it. i.e from outside.
