Should Congress be term limited? Should the age limits? Take for example the late Strom Thurman who served until he was 99! Or Sheets Byrd, he's in his 80's and has been there forever. I think 6 House terms and two Senate terms would help eliminate some of the corruption and disjointedness between elected officials and the people they serve.

I absolutely agree...only I would not be as generous as you...I think there should be a 2 term limit on all.... Look at Kennedy he has voted for and against every issue that has faced Americans for 45 years...and him a drunkard & murderer!

term limits have been discussed before, but the main problem is that Congress itself would have to set the limits - and they dont want to lose their jobs!

as far as age limits, as long as that person's constituents think they can keep doing the job, why should they not be allowed to elect them? Byrd may be in his 80's but voters still think he's the best choice.

There already are term limits for Congress. They're called elections.

no, they shouldnt. term limits are stupid, for congress or for president or any other office. if the majority of people want that person in office, he/she should be able to retain that role. let the people decide who should be in office by voting...thats the way a democracy is supposed to work.

It's supposed to be public service...not public control!
