Attempting to categorize Jesus based on any modern political party is a fool's errand. He did these things for His purpose not for politics and to modernize him in that respect is ludicrous. Both Democrats and Republicans help the poor and needy and use non-violent methods to get their point across. However, Democrats are more likely to demand other people's money to help the needy rather than use their own and I'm pretty sure Jesus wouldn't approve of that. He told the disciples to sell all they own, give the money to the poor and follow Him, not sell all they own and give the money to Him so He could "distribute" it to the poor.

You decide: Jesus believed we should give up our lives for others. Jesus believed the poor deserve our attention. Jesus believed anyone can be forgiven. Jesus believed abortion is an offense against the Father's creation Jesus believed the death penalty is not right. Jesus believed the rich should give up their wealth. Jesus believed the government should be given its due respect. Unfortunately, the Christian Right in America today are denying some of Christ's teachings and promote the idea that to be Christ-like is to be Republican. The other end of the spectrum would be just as wrong. Jesus would not be Democrat or Republican. Jesus is perfect and neither D or R is perfect. Just so nobody gets any funny ideas... Jesus is not Green Party either. Jesus is King of Kings and Lord of Lords He does not vote. hahah... he Judges. Amen.

Problem is that democrats don't help the poor. They develop dependency among the poor which doesn't help them. Helping the poor is best achieved by helping them back to work. Also Jesus would have in his platform killing unborn children for convience or for medical research. He wouldn't claim a racist like Robert Byrd as the "concience" of the Senate. He wouldn't support gay marrige.

Sound like a Republican to me

Uh, no.

He did not tax other people to care for the poor, he did it by giving them help personally.

And he did not use non-violent means to drive the money-changers from the temple.

He did not see government as the solution to the problems.

And he did not consider it right for people to be casting moral judgements about others (can you say, "greedy evil warmongering neo-cons" like the Neo-Dems always do?).

And he certainly did not believe in government welfare or abortion.

I would not claim him to any party, as his mission was spiritual, not temporal. Suffice it to say that I think your premise is shallow and unsupported.

Lets see - he was pro life, wanted the people to think for themselves and was educated...that would be the opposite of Democrats!

yeah, right.

so he could have his fellow Democrats deny his existence? okay.

personally, i do not conjecture on such things. i am not God and do not try to pretend i could predict such a thing. besides, i doubt Jesus was very worried with political parties, somehow.

No he had no political affiliation and cared about people's souls and not government. He couldn't be a democrat anyway, because he wouldn't approve of abortion.

Jesus advocted personal responsibility, charity, and denounced taxes....you decide.

He wasn't a Democrat or a Republican. Should it matter if he was either, anyway?
