Hi

My car is getting all fogged up..on all the four inside windows, especially the backseat windows!
The defroster works fine on the Front windshield and on the Back Window, when I turn on the defroster and put heater..

The climate is pretty cold (in MN). I understand the reasons for this condensation by breathing..may be bad heat core etc..

I also knew about..opening a window slit open or turning on AC ( NO AC in my car..), NOT recirculating the same air, removing the dampness etc..
Nothing worked!

I heard about Rain-X...
I need some suggestions on.. if I can use it...as per my requirements I just specified...for window fogging...
or is it just during rain time?

Also, if I don't feel comfortable using Rain X, is there a way to remove the coat....other than waiting for it to ...wear off after several months/days....

thanks! appreciate the help

The same company that makes Rain-X also makes FOG-X.. You can buy it in a bottle and apply it to the windows with rags, or they make pre-moistened wipes that you can just apply directly to the glass. I've used both, and the results are AWESOME. Use the Fog-X on the inside of your car, the Rain-X on the outside. And if you have enough Fog-X left, use some on your bathroom mirror, too! It gets pesky wives and children out of the bathroom MUCH faster. :-)

I have also used FOG-X and was very disappointed! It actually made the fogging worse. First we need to look at why there is fog. Its cold outside, which makes the glass cold. Its warm inside the car, warm air is moist air (from your breatheing). when the warm, moist air touches the cold glass the moisture condenses (forms water droplets) on the glass. Now you can start by cleaning the glass with glass cleaner, use lint free rags. there really isnt a way to keep the glass from fogging aside from air movement and lots of it. Like the defroster.

first of all.....
well done for getting your back seat all steamy.
There is an anti fog spray available for motorcycle helmets, (Bob Heath Anti Fog Stuff). Its about 3 or 4 Quid and will take off the grease that coats the window so it wont fog up a quick.
Available in all good motorcycle shops and some bad ones.

It's also good for writing scary messages on the bathroom mirror for when the wife gets out of the shower.

clean windows offer less surface for condensation to form, less-
ening the fog effect. you can also turn your vents directly on the side windows.try the rain-x on half of a side window for effect,if you don't like it,it's not on all of them. loss of coolant, odor of antifreeze and dampness in floorboards indicate a bad heater
core.

I found that Rain-X made fogging worse. It seems to cause the windows to take longer to clear.
