For very much the same reason why many in the US hate the Arabs. They are taught from young to do so, by their leaders, their parents, their cultures. Only with the twin use of freedom of information and intellectual integrity can we overcome our differences and banish terrorism. They are all dying for someone's else wars.

Remember the time when Copernicus first discovered that the Earth revolves around the sun? Well, the Moslems have had that era way before the Christians. Becoming affluent from their science and commerce, there is internal squabbling and so they revert back to a kind of dark age, where science and religion are separated (sounds familiar?). Naturally, this kind of segregation discourages people to think for themselves and so leave them vulnerable to exploitations from their 'leaders'. In politics, there are very few good people, only self-interested ones.

Jealous of are freedom . . . right? I suspect they believe that all of their problems would be solved with the West demise when in reality the source of most of their misery is there own inept and corrupt governments.
