I totally sympathize with you! People kept telling me that it would get better and I was like, "but what can we do now?!" My baby was gassey and just had a little bit of colic. We got on Gentlease. It wasn't a miracle formula or anything, but that's what we stuck with. I would ask your doctor and experiment with formulas. Find one that's descent and stick with it. I changed like 6 times! I also used Dr. Brown Bottles and gas drops in her bottles. After 2 1/2 months or so things just got better on their own. It will get better, I promise!

You already have some VERY good answers here. Just remember, breast feeding can seem very difficult but don't give up, it is SO worth it. It really is best for baby AND you. It is not unusual for breast fed babies to feel the need to eat much more frequently than formula fed babies, so try not to compare the two if you know or hear of someone who has a baby that goes 3 or 4 hours between feedings. Also, your baby may be falling asleep at the breast, which means although you have her latched and feel as if you are feeding, she may not be actively nursing. Rub her little cheeks or feet/toes to keep her awake and focused. I also agree with someone else's comment here about you feeling like you are "empty" is just likely because you are passed the initial phase when you are engorged/having rapid let downs which happen at the beginning. Hang in there. The more your baby a (actively) nurses, the more your body will produce!

New babies do fuss. You might call your doctor and ask him about trying him on a different formula. Some babies don't do well on formula w/iron. My daughter's baby had to be switched to soy because he had such bad gas and fussed all the time. After switching to soy, he is doing just fine and growing like a weed. It's worth a try. Don't worry about him fussing, it's just part of being a baby. Relax and enjoy you new son!

He doesnt always want to take the bottle?U could try one with a comfort protien that may be easier for him to digest like nestle good start with omega 3&6.Unless the doctor has told you he needs iron i would stay away from it this early.Another possability could be an allergy or sensitivity to dairy in the formula,my son fussed alot and lowered his amount he would eat,he was allergic to dairy.I would suggest 2 see your doctor about it.Best of luck to you.

What do you mean by 'fusses'? It's a 3 week old baby and it needs to be held and loved most of the time. It could be that it's just wanting some love....

BABIES CRY AND FUSS!!!It`s perfectly normal. It`s their only way of communication. If he`s eating regularly, burping nicely and making as well then the chances are there`s nothing to worry about and he just needs some TLC!!

A lot of babies get gas try using Malacon drops, that helps calm their belly's. It's completely normal for a newborn to be fussy especially because they have to feed often, be changed often and need tons of sleep. All i can say is get use to it, your in for a long ride!

the iron in the formula could be upsetting his tummy, does he have regular bowl movements? Why could you not breast milk? sorry for asking but breast is best for babies that young.
