I'm planning a trip to chicago but I dont know if I should fly or drive. I might be going by myself but if my friends come with i dont know if they will want to fly or drive either. I have a pretty good car that gets like 25mpg city and about 30mpg highway. Help!

I'm going to be going from northern colorado to chicago. It's a 14 hour drive and about 1000 miles.

Well it just depends,if you live a long way from chicago you might want to fly, cause alot of times flying is cheaper and faster, you won't have to stop and stay at a hotel when you fly, but the neat thing with driving is you can see things that you would never see in the air on a plane. For example me and my husband moved from Oregon to Texas a year ago, and it would have been cheaper for us to sell our cars and get rid of stuff and fly to Texas, but we wanted to drive cause I grew up flying everywhere that I wanted to drive across the country so I could see states and places I have never been since I always flew and just been at some of the airports in those states, goodluck with whatever you decide.

Since I have no idea how far you are from Chicago, I would recommend flying......if you are less than 500 miles from chicago then driving would be a better option...of course it also depends on how long you plan to stay there, what your expense account is and your freinds going with you.....flying is a better bet when traveling alone

Do you like to drive? How much time do you have? Will you need a car when you get there? Flying is safer, probably. Driving with friends could be fun. Driving alone could be fun, for that matter. If you don't have much time and are going alone, then flying is probably the choice. If your friends are going, then just vote on it. With any luck the vote will be unanimous.

If you have the time, driving is definitely the answer. You save alot of money. The flight you are going to maybe take would cost 200 to 800 dollars round trip. If you have to be there fast flying is the way to go, but if not DRIVE.

I like to drive, myself. You see so much more, and there is not jet lag. If you have the time, driving is the way to go. Even with gas prices the way they are, it is cheaper for me to drive than fly.

in case you have 2 f#@king 5 MONTH previous BRATS.. then PLEASE do the others on any flight a choose and tension IT.. not everybody likes to pay attention a pair of f#@king brats crying via an prolonged flight. besides that.. with that many infants going.. it might purely be much less stressful to tension it.. and it may be extra much lower priced TOO.
