There was a blizzard in Colorado. Thousands left without power. More than 44 inches of snow. 90 mph winds. Many communities were isolated.

Why didn't the people in Colorado blame Bush?
Why didn't they demand credit cards with $2,000.00
Why didn't Oprah come and save them?

No one blamed the government
No one looted.
No one used this storm as an excuse to rape and murder.
No one expected the government to do anything.

Why are people still blaming Bush for Hurricane Katrina?

You are right. The government knew what was going to happen so they WARNED people to evacuate. If they didn't/were unable to, it is unfortunate but I still don't see how Bush is to blame.

This text is from a county emergency manager out in the
central part of Colorado after one of these snowstorms.

WEATHER BULLETIN

Up here, in the Northern Plains, we just recovered from a
Historic
event--- may I even say a "Weather Event" of "Biblical
Proportions" ---
with a historic blizzard of up to 44" inches of snow and
winds to 90 MPH
that broke trees in half, knocked down utility poles,
stranded hundreds
of motorists in lethal snow banks, closed ALL roads, isolated
scores of
communities and cut power to 10's of thousands.

FYI:

George Bush did not come.

FEMA did nothing.

No one howled for the government.

No one blamed the government.

No one even uttered an expletive on TV

Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton did not visit.

Our Mayor did not blame Bush or anyone else.

Our Governor did not blame Bush or anyone else, either.

CNN, ABC, CBS, FOX or NBC did not visit - or report on this
category 5
snowstorm. Nobody demanded $2,000 debit cards.

No one asked for a FEMA Trailer House.

No one looted.

Nobody - I mean Nobody demanded the government do something.

Nobody expected the government to do anything, either.

No Larry King, No Bill O'Rielly, No Oprah, No Chris Mathews
and No Geraldo
Rivera.

No Shaun Penn, No Barbara Striesand, No Hollywood types to be
found.

Nope, we just melted the snow for water.

Sent out caravans of SUV's to pluck people out of snow
engulfed cars.

The truck drivers pulled people out of snow banks and didn't
ask for a
penny.

Local restaurants made food and the police and fire
departments delivered
it to the snowbound families.

Families took in the stranded p eople - total strangers.

We fired up wood stoves, broke out coal oil lanterns or
Coleman lanterns.

We put on extra layers of clothes because up here it is "Work
or Die".

We did not wait for some affirmative action government to get
us out of a
mess created by being immobilized by a welfare program that
trades votes
for 'sittin at home' checks.

Even though a Category "5" blizzard of this scale has never
fallen this
early, we know it can happen and how to deal with it
ourselves.

"In my many travels, I have noticed that once one gets north
of about 48
degrees North Latitude, 90% of the world's social problems
evaporate."

It does seem that way, at least to me.

I hope this gets passed on.

The La. city is full of welfare cases and very poor people and Co. is not so the Libs feel they can attack the administration on the bases of race and wealth. There were a lot of failures in La. and some of them may have been helped by Bush's people if they had worked harder to prepare for this type of storm but I will bet that if it had of happened in Carters, Ford's, Reagan's, or Clinton's time things would have been real similar. The FMEA people are like us in that they are sitting at work playing on their computers too.
People the world over have the "it want happen to me" mentality and sometimes that bites us in the butt.

Because Bush didn't help those ppl fast enough!! When people in AMERICA (babies and the elderly) die of dehydration that's PATHETIC!!!!

I lived through Hurricane Rita which was a about a month after Katrina i evacuated but i know that not everyone could afford to do the same! The government knew what was going to happen...they should have sent buses and planes to help them leave!!

Amazing what happens when people take responsibility and elected officials do what they are paid to do. The governor of Colorado used his constitutionally granted power to activate his National Guard troops to assist with the natural disaster.

A lack of action and criminal ineptitude on the part of Kathleen Blanco and Ray Nagin directly led ot the death of every flood related death.

I blame the army corps of engineers for building such crappy levees. I blame Ray Nagin for not working with the US gov't and making it a race issue. i blame Bush for doing nothing. I blame Bush for creating a branch of government that was completely ineffective, costing me money. I blame the people of NO who ripped apart their own city, never to return to rebuild (that's half of them). There are several layers to the Katrna situation. And I find it funny that the herds of cows have relief being flown in immediately...and the people of New Orleans had to fight for it. i guess we care more about livestock, than we do about people. And yes, the government is subsidizing those who are experiencing loss...like the farmers and ranchers. Not only did they expect the government to do it, the government did it without being asked

Excellent point you have made with your Question, don't be surprised when the word BIGOT starts to jump up, that word is the only argument some people can find to distort the truth!!
