If so...was it something they were happy about?
Or did they even know they had it?

It seems to be endemic in Mensa men.
I've known 4 Mensa men with it. Two of them quite well.
#1: Had 6 kids and at age 70 was still diddling around on his second wife (who was his nanny for his first brood of 3). Has girl friends in many cities and is always up for one more. Knows how to really move a woman. I overheard his Arizona GF ask him his decision on Viagra so perhaps he's waning.
#2: Keeps a spreadsheet so he can recall where he is with each woman -- that is, in the call-and-get-to-know-you stage, in the active seduction phase, long term GF stage. The spreadsheet also has details of each woman (children, shape of pubic hair, likes and dislikes, personality type). He knows he has satyriasis but keeps it a deeply hidden secret. Every woman in his harem feels as though she is the one and only. That's his true gift.
#3: Mensa man who was kind of just talking within a group on a Sunday morning and going over every woman he had seduced over the weekend.
#4. After a particularly brilliant speech on multiple universes and shortly after I complimented him on it, he asked me to bed. He used his presentations to seduce smart women.

Yes, I have been the beneficiary of it!!!

Being a woman, loving a man who just loves to make love is quite an experience. My old lover, who was 17 years older than I was when I was in my 20s, taught me a lot about sexuality, about personal relationships, and also a lot about the things that were important to him intellectually. But he was also what he called "polymorphous perverse," which meant basically that if it moved, he would insert himself into it somewhere. And have a great deal of fun in the process. And he knew enough about what it takes to please a woman that they rarely if ever complained. I don't think any of the men did, either! LOL

(Aunt93) "polymorphous perverse" you didn't have pets did you? Dogs, cats, guppies? That must have been a pretty sight.
