Idols target age group is 13 to 40's, whereas Marilyn Manson's target age group is ideally 18+. Most of his (MM) albums have explicit lyrics, while Idol does not condone or encourage the use of foul language and sexually explicit lyrics due to being a TV show on at 8:00pm. Plus Marilyn Manson worked with Trent Resner(NIN) before he became famous on his own. Marilyn was know to be one of the best soundmen and board operators, and that is how Trent Resner and him started working together on Downward Spiral.
