Honestly emotion and feelings have nothing to do with your intellect, it is your reaction. If you have have the proper values and morals intstilled iin you then you should be able to react appropriately. Everyone has let their emotions get the best of them at some point or another. Every one has feeling but I strongly believe that you are a product of your environment, hence different parts of society behave differently than others.

Well, they certainly can. The best is when the emotions and the intellect settle on the same set of symbols, the same stories and images. Whether that's enough to call it a "religion," without the necessity of going somewhere dressed up nicely once a week and involving yourself in the rituals and social interactions which Christians call "church," is up to you. It depends on where your heart and your head lead you.

Only let them keep one another informed, and find the belief that suits both. For me, that is something others call Wicca, and I just call "my way."

Belief means coming to a conclusion without rational thought, i.e. without engaging your intellect. You want it to be true, so you simply believe it is true. So yes, feelings are the driver for belief, not intellect. Intellect wants evidence from the real world, it wants rational analysis before coming to conclusions.

I asked a similar question - my belief is that your capacity for empathy or lack thereof determines your worldview.

I guess the breakdown is obvious.

Semi-related, here is an interesting article about conservatism.

I believe they go hand in hand. Do you not have feelings about your knowledge? Or opinions... Intellect doesn't mean coldness...
