My 7-month-old LOVES prunes. We had a bit of trouble getting him to eat solids but he has always gladly eaten prunes.
The problem is...they make him EXPLODE! This does not bother me too much (aside from the huge amount of laundry I have to do!) but I do think that it sometimes becomes a problem for my sister who watches him during the day along with her two young children. It is quite a mess to clean up especially when there are two other kids running around.
So my question is, should I deprive my son of his favorite food? And is it bad for him to have so many of these explosive poops?

Everything in moderation. Think about how you feel when you have a BM like your son's. It's uncomfortable. Try raisins to see if he likes them (they don't make you explode). Start off giving him only one prune per day, increase to see how many prunes he can eat without "exploding" and you'll know the max he can have per day. Good Luck!

try mixing the prunes with bananas, and then just increase the amount of banana each time and lower the amount of prunes. eventually, you'll wean him onto bananas instead. (or whatever other fruit you choose.)

hope that helps! works with my kids!
