It seems that since I have been taking Ortho Tri Cyclen (switched to Tri-Sprintec in the last month), I have been super moody. I have a short temper, irritable, and snap more than usual at my fiance.

Has anyone had the same experience with this? And would switching to the OTC Lo help with the mood swings? Or would switching the pill altogether help? I just don't want to ruin my relationship with the irritableness I've been experiencing.

Any input would be great if you have experienced the same thing!

its definitely possible. ortho tri cyclen has a lot of hormones. i've been on 5 different brands of bc pills and that was the worst ever. i had yeast infections every month the week before i was supposed to get my period for the 4 months i was on it. i switched to lo too and it helped alot.

I never got side effects with ortho tri-cyclen. I had never been on the lo, only the regular at 17 when I started taking birth control. When I started, it regulated my period and I used to only get it 2-3 days. The only time I ever had problems was when I started depo-provera. If the ortho-tri cyclen does not work - I suggest staying far away from depo.

I would suggest that you talk with your doctor about your moods.. There may be more to it than you realize..Maybe your stressed about other issues, or are suffering from depression. In any event..I'd talk with your doctor. People on here are not qualified to answer such questions! Good luck and God Bless....At least you have sense enough to realize you have a problem and are willing to address it! I'm certain you'll get through it, and your fiance' will be pleased that your taking the initative.

There is a chance....but tell your Dr. whats going on and they will be able to make a better recommendation. It happened to me and they put me on a whole different kind... I am now on the nuva ring and I have no side effects whatsoever!
