you must mean prolapsed intervertebral disc. this could be tricky during labour. you can get an epidural depending on the severity and the level of disc, and the duration of prolapse. time heals in prolapses, so if the bulge occured 3-4 months ago, i would not be worried. if the bulge occured just a week back, there could be cause for worry, and in such cases C-section would be safer. as such most herniated discs are in lumbo-sacral region, and giving spinal could be tricky. in case of cervical or thoracic prolapse it may be easier to induce. good luck.

I had a herniated disc and when i went through labor, I had really bad back labor. They did the epidural and it worked fine. My back hurt worse while I was pregnant and carrying my pregnant belly around. My back also hurt after I had my daughter (where I have the herniated disc). I guess it was just my body's way of going back to normal after I had the baby and lost so much weight at once. Good luck with everything!!!!!
