Only fertilized eggs can hatch into chickens. These eggs are culled out at the farm by use of a bright light to see inside the egg.

When an egg is good, or fertilized, (can potentially hatch into a chicken) it stays in the barn. But if it's no good (means it won't hatch into a chicken) then it sold in stores or whatever.

They're kept chilled. The eggs have to be a certain temperature to go from tasty little eggs to tasty little chicks.

They don't get incubated ie mother don't sit on them. Think this stops them hatching just a guess though
