A normal hour long show is about 40 minutes long without commercials... so there are about 20 minutes of commercials.... ..... depending on the lentgh of the commercial, I would say there are about 20 - 40 commercials in one hour...

"You can figure anywhere from 72 to 96 per channel per hour. " (quoted from one of the above posters) - you couldn't fit that many commercials on one hour... lol... even if a commercial would only be 30 seconds long.. having 96 commercials in one hour would take up about 48 minutes... and the show itself would only be 12 minutes long...

It seems like there are 96 commercials in an hour sometimes though...lol

Well, there are about 5-7 commercials in every commercial break, and about 5-6 commercial breaks every hour.......so roughly 25-42 commercials per hour, depending on the network, and show you are watching.

You can figure anywhere from 72 to 96 per channel per hour. The total would be hard to figure, but I just did 6 or 8 every 5 to 6 minutes times 12 to get this total.
