Many women find that going through menopause does not impact their sex life. Some even find it even more exciting than ever because they are no longer concerned about becoming pregnant. For many women, though, some of the physiological effects of menopause does impact their enjoyment of sex. It is important to understand that these effects can be treated, and sex after menopause can be very fulfilling and enjoyable.

Symptoms of Menopause that Affect Sexual Enjoyment

During menopause, there are certain physiological changes that can interfere with the enjoyment of sex. Due to loss of estrogen, these symptoms include:

*

Hot flashes that can occur at any time, causing discomfort and irritability

* Night sweats that interfere with a woman's sleep, thereby decreasing her desire for sex

* Vaginal dryness

* Loss of androgens (including testosterone) that can lower a woman's sex drive or libido

It is likewise important to note that a woman's desire for sex can be affected by other physical changes related more to aging than to menopause. These changes may include:

* Decreased blood flow to the pelvis - ovaries no longer need as much nourishment, and the reduced blood flow causes the vagina to become smaller and less elastic

* Walls of the vagina may become thin and tender, causing intercourse to be very painful

* Problems with urine leakage or increased urinary frequency due to weakening of pelvic muscle support

All these problems mentioned by the Princess are correct
scientifically but today's medicine has given so many solutions
to menopausal women that most of the symptoms will not affect
your sex life. For vaginal dryness and bladder problems there are special estrogen suppositories that keep that part very
healthy and problem free. Your wife will stay young and beautiful if she keeps a healthy diet and exercises. I am sure a young husband gives an older woman a lot of confidence and makes her look young.

Woman who are going through menopause do have a decrease in sex drive normally, it's normal and most likely will come back up some when they are completely threw it. Most woman experience vaginal dryness which detours them from having sex due to it being so uncomfortable. They also have mood swings, hot flashes, irritability and irregular periods. They now give woman going threw menopause hormones to help get them threw the rough times. However, if you think your wife is having a low libido now then she could be simply having a hormonal fluctuation and it's normal for couples to experience a "dry" spell with sex as the relationship progresses. It's normal. I hope this helps you.

Honey, my two sister's have gone through menopause already and it hasn't effected their "Sex-Lives" one bit !!! You have no worries there hun!! She may experience a little bit of "Mood-Swings" hot flashes, those sorts of things, just like a women who's young and pregnant would.. But, even those symptom's all depend on the woman, you know........ But, I have never heard of anyone's sex life being effected by it at all, so dont worry!!! Smile, and just be there for her when she goes through it, you know.... It'll all work itself out, you'll see!!!
