We currently own a '88 Mercedes and got it running like a dream, ourselves. (my husband and I)

the thing I can tell You is.......

there should be an specialized automotive shop for Mercedes Benz in Your area,if there is two get a estimate from both of them.

after and only after ....take it to the Mercedes dealer.

the only problem I see is the critical Year of the car.
if that were 1996 the story were totally different

Not hard if you know how!! Look in the yellow pages for a repair shop that specializes in European imports. Find out what their labor rate is then call the dealer & check out their rate. Chances are the independent shop will save you alot of money.

take it to the dealer even though its a 11 year old car. those cars have alot of stuff in them that most mechanics don't know about.. or find someone that knows about those cars. note: everything is metric in those cars.
