Start getting ready for baby to come to keep your mind off it. By the time 40 weeks comes around you will be so uncomfortable you will be wishing labor would come so you can feel like yourself. And just remember there is a end to the pain, it is only temporary and there is a lovely ending with a beautiful baby in your arms. Plus there is always a epidural and you don't feel a darn thing. Good luck.

It's completely normal to be nervous about the birth but I assure you that by the time your due date comes around you will be so ready to not be pregnant anymore that you will stop being afraid of labor! Seriously though, you need to be sure your doctor or midwife is someone you trust and feel comfortable with and that you know what to expect. Yes it is painful, and things can go wrong, you have to be aware of that, but you can get an epidural for the worst of the pain. This is what your body was built to do - you can do it, and when it's over you will have a baby!
Remind yourself that everybody on Earth got here the same way, it happens millions of times everyday, and usually it turns out just fine. Best of luck.

First of all consider all your options for the pain when delivering your child. There are introvenous drugs (safe for baby) doctors can give, there is the epidural (which i only WISH i would have done with the first - 4 of my labors/pregnancies)
Then the second to consider is (just to take your mind off the pain a little) do things in preparation for the baby's coming. Go out and have some fun...LOL believe me parents should have some fun once in a while hehe
GL and Congratulations :)

Hi, i know exactly how you feel. i just had a baby 3 months ago. i got really nervous around the same time. i handled it by doing things that took my mind off it. go for a walk (try to avoid areas where there would be lots of moms with kids), read a book, watch a favorite movie. do anything u can to relax and not obsess over it. if you think it's going quick now, wait until you start having to go to the doctor's once a week. :) good luck. hope this helps.

Dont worry about it,let it be an exciting experience and happy thoughts of your little one coming soon. I hate pain and long hours too but since I had my first I know that its not as bad as it seems *if u get an epidural*..doctors have pain medicaitions out there now that u can get before the epidural if u decide to,once that epidural comes u are home free and wont feel a thing, then next thing you know heres your baby boy...Good luck,if i could do it 2 times so far u can do it..=)

Everyone feels that way. Its always in the back of your head what could happen. You just have to deal with it. That's one of the responsibility's you took when you got pregnant. Motherhood is already starting to set in! To keep your self occupied you may want to shop for the little one and put some baby stuff out. I did that and I hung all the cloths in the closet so when I walked by I thought to myself, "this is the reason why I'm doing all this, for my precious baby boy"! Good luck you will do fine. Woman were "meant" to have children!

Have you started on the nursery yet? I know it may seem early but I'd recomend getting things ready like painting (open windows!) and pickign out decorations. It will keep your mind off of the wait and still be fun. If you wait to long to get things ready for baby, you'll just be miserable and uncomfortable and things like painting and decorating (even walking aroudn the mall to shop) will be difficult. Good luck!

Focus on fun things, like folding your baby's clothes, or decorating your baby's room. I used to take out a storybook and read to my belly when I got nervous. I'd also hang out with friends of mine who had already had babies (I don't know if you have any, but call them if you do).
Congratulations, and don't worry. You're going to do great! Remember that this is what your body is designed to do.
