I'm almost 33 now, and I don't really have any wrinkles, yet, but I would still like to do what I can to keep them at bay. I have oily skin, and I've heard that this will help me develop fewer wrinkles than someone with normal or dry skin, but unfortunately, my oily skin also leaves me susceptible to the occasional breakout. I've been exfoliating day and night with an apricot scrub from St. Ives that's formulated for oily skin and has salicylic acid. So far, it's done a pretty good job of keeping the zits away. Also, I've started using Nivea CoQ10 wrinkle reducer day creme and night creme. Do you think that any of this will work?

My Dermatologist is like my best friend. Here is the scoop:
The best skincare regimen you can have is to use sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen.
The only thing that topical creams can do is help alleviate very fine, surface lines. Skincare creams cannot help wrinkles. Botox and fillers can. You can really retard the formation of wrinkles with the use of these tools.

As for the oily skin, I have it, too. I use the Neutrogena toner in the blue bottle, it is very good and not drying. Also witch hazel is a great toner to help with oiliness.

As for the apricot scrubs, they kernels in the apricots tend to be a little to large and actually tear the skin. It is best to use a very fine exfoliator, again, Neutrogena makes a good one. Or just use one with fine beads that you like.

As for acne, Aveeno makesa great acne treatment. It's an on the spot treatment, comes in a green tube.

To really help with acne (mine was AWFUL), I woudl suggest seeing a dermatologist. He can perscribe a number of things taht will work well. After many rounds with a number of things that cured my acne, I maintain a "zit-free" face with a sulphur-based mask called Plexion. It is a magnificent lifesaver. Really.
I also use it to spot treat the occasional pimple at night.

Good luck! I am 32, btw.

Try the cliniqe 3 step system, it doesn't cause breakouts and is hypoallergenic also, so won't irritate. Since you have very dry skin, you sound like a #1. Try mild facial soap and dramatically different moisturizing lotion. Talk to a clinique aesthetician for a customized program. Also try cetaphil cleanser and lotion. Cetaphil is the most gentle cleanser out there, as it is not a soap and is totally non irritating. It is also great for dry skin, because you can use it without water, just apply and wipe off with a cloth. This leaves a slight layer of the cleanser on skin that is really soothing to dry skin. The moisturizer is also really rich. The cetaphil option is also cheaper and can get it in drugstores. Another good line is Loreal Skin Genesis, it really tightens and refines skin making it look younger. I've been using it for a couple weeks and already see an improvement. I like the serum, because you can use it under your regular moisturizer, and it doesn't cause any irritation or breakouts so far. I use it before using the dramatically different lotion. As long as you take care of skin, use sunblock daily and moisturize, that is all you can do. Everyone will get wrinkles eventually, don't sweat it too much. Stress will age you faster than anything.

Yes, I think that your skincare regimen is very good. But also remember to stay out of the sun. If you're going to be outside for a long period of time, always wear sunscreen and maybe a hat. Keeping your skin hydrated is also going to minimize signs of aging, so keep using the Nivea cream. I've heard great things about that brand.
Whatever you do, don't use mineral makeup like Bare Minerals. That powdery stuff will settle into every one of your wrinkles and fine lines. The brand is really for younger people who have smooth skin. You might want to skip foundation and face powder because that can have the same effect. Always use an eye cream before you apply concealer or eyeshadow so your skin doesn't get a "crepey" look.

If you do not have alot of melanin in your skin ( you do not have naturally brown, olive, or very dark skin) then my answer is No.
You ought to wear sunscreen at least SPF 15, every time you go out after 10:00 am in the morning. Skin that does not have eumelanin is susceptible to premature aging when exposed to sunlight. This is caused by UVA and UVB rays penetrating the skin, mutating the DNA and making deep, making unable to be fixed wrinkles with sagging. I think that your skin regimen will help out a little bit but you ought to wear sunscreen.
And if you still want a healthy tan, then use bronzer or a little self tanner. There is a self tanner out there for everyone, I have seen Nicole Kidman wear it before because she cannot and does not tan naturally.
Hope this helps.

And remember not to smoke. Smoking can make people age really fast ESPECIALLY women. I don't know why that is, but it is.

Word to the wise, all women, regardless of skin color should wear a light sunscreen. Even though skin cancer occurs most commonly among people with very little melanin, moles, splotches, and discoloration can still happen to everyone.

The best way to keep wrinkles away is this:

Drink plenty of water
ALWAYS USE SPF SUN PROTECTION on your skin
Avoid sun exposure if you can
cleanse and moisturize your skin twice daily (morning and night)
(and always include your NECK, because this skin looses elasticity easy and you need to care for it like you do your face)

Looking for good products for inside and out beauty? try Arbonne products, all natural, botanical, NO animal by-products - everything from vitamins to SPF protection to anti-aging products.

I don't know what will work for you, but I do know what I've seen in older women who look fantastic for their age.

No face makeup - no powder, no foundation, no concealor. I know- it's tough. But which do you want more?

Vitamin E - I met an elderly woman whose face was remarkable despite her age. I asked whether or not she had had work done. She told me her secret was that she used Vitamin E capsules on a regular basis. She would prick the pill to get to the liquid, and apply it to her face before bed. A bit messy, but hey!

Water - And lots, but everyone knows that.
