I have two children and really didn't want to work outside of the home, but having some extra money was something that I wanted. I decided to do some reading.

I spent two months reading everything I could on the Internet. I came across a site called SiteBuildIt that showed me I could create my own web site and make money that way. I was hesitant as it costs $299 to purchase it. After thinking about it and reading more, I decided to give it a try.

My site is about resume writing. I know a lot about the topic and I love to write about it, so it was an easy choice. Some people do their sites on their hobbies, such as scrapbooking, woodworking, gardening and so on.

The way I make money is by placing Google ads on the site. When people click on those ads, I make money. This month, I'm looking at making just under $300 (Google will not allow people to state what they specifically make). Also, last week, I put my resume book on the site for sale. No biters on that yet, but I think it will grow over time.

Creating your own web site is hard work (you have to research and write), but it really is a good feeling to show people what you can do. My self-esteem has even improved.

I'll list my web site below and if you want more information, click on the "My Passion" button on my site or click on the "Contact Us" button and ask me any questions you want. I have helped two other people here on Yahoo Answers get started with their web sites. One lady just purchased her second site, too. She's doing GREAT (probably better than I am). :)

It's a real business and you own it. That's the best part. Your success depends on you, not a boss or a company who cares about their bottom line instead of yours. Plus, like me, you can be at home.

I have two children and I'm starting on my Master's degree (tonight, actually), so I need the flexibility, too.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you choose to do.

If you are planning to start on your woodworking project, this isn't something you should use, it's something that you would be insane not to. Go here https://tr.im/79slO
Truth is, I've been a carpenter for almost 36 years, and I haven't found anything like this for less than 10's of thousands of dollars.

Yes there are but it doesn't matter what is given out that is legit, they are always targetted as pyramids and scams without taking the time to at least check them out and ask questions.

Yes, 100% there are. For the most they are self owned businesses such as free lance data entry or child care, but I know if one company that is a legit business.

The company is called Willow and basically hires people to take order, do invoicing, make reservations...etc. It's not easy to get a job with them, but they are legit (which is probably why it's so hard to get a job with them). They have a website at http://www.willowcsn.com/ good luck!

Although technically not a 'home job', you can do affiliate marketing from home. Affiliate marketing is creating websites to help sell other people's products and generating revenue through advertising or commissions.

There's a lot of room for opportunity in this field and the money makes itself. You won't get rich quick but if you work hard enough you can earn a substantial amount of revenue. A good book for information on affiliate marketing is the rich jerk. Check it out here
