Ok people-seriously 55,00 is not alot before taxes. I cannot afford to pay out of pocket. I have a mortgage, credit cards, car insurance, car payments, electricity and so on. I called blue cross blue shield and they said they do not cover pregnant women or prenatal visits.

First of all, who thinks 55K is a lot nowadays?
OK, so Long Island is expensive, but at 50K there's no way I could swing it anywhere else, either.
Anyway, this is ridiculous. Immigrants can have their kid for free, and SOSOSOSOSO many are doing that, but you gotta pay.
I can't say you should lie.
There would be a record of that.
Nope, I didn't say it at all.

Well, you certainly make more money than my husband and I put together and we didn't have a problem with having our son. We're still making payments to the hospital, but as long as we're paying them, they are happy. Besides, they can't repo the kid :)! The child will come. The hospital has to give you service, regardless if you have insurance or not. You're going to have to pay out of pocket. There's no other option if you do not qualify for some kind of assistance. I'd suggest no water birth. That's an additional charge you can get rid of. Call you county's health and human services office and find out what other options are out there. You might be surprised.

You make 55K a year and don't have insurance?
Just because you work on commission doesn't mean you couldn't have gotten insurance.
What did you want us to tell you? You prettty much already answered the question for us.
The only thing you can do is search for a mid-wife and those cost a good bit of money too. You'll still need the ultrasounds and doctor visits though and you'll have to pay from your own pocket.
I'm not sure though about no company will carry you because you are already pregnant. A girl at work got hired and started on our insurance when she was about 3 months along. We have Blue Cross Blue Shield. You may want to check around more.

Really not sure what your question is. I did not have health insurance while I was pregnant either. Make too much to qualify for an assistance. I made payments to hospital and Dr that delivered the baby. There are clinics you can go to if you can not afford a private Dr.

You make to much money for Medicaid. However, call your local hospitals or the birth center you wish and ask them to set you on a prepaid plan. You will end up paying X amount of dollars over the course of your pregnancy and maybe a little there after. But, it will ease the worry of the financial situation so you can enjoy your pregnancy. Speak with your OB/GYN as well they may offer some similar plans. Mine offered a plan that included her services and the hospitals services. Good luck to you!

I don't know what to tell you at this point other than at $55,000 a year you should have already had yourself on a private plan like Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Texas. It is never wise to run around having no insurance. Besides pregnancy, anything could happen to you where you might need insurance coverage!!

Try getting a quote from unicare.com. If you don't want to purchase insurance or pay the bills. The only other option would be your local health clinic. I know it's hard & I wish you the best of luck.

My advice if you get 100% com. then you need to lie to medicaid and say you are not working or don't tell them how much you make. say you make like 20,000. sometime you have to do what you have to do. Having a baby is very expensive if you don't have insurance. I know I have a judgement on my credit for not having ins. Might not be the best advice but think about it.
