I do not like racism - or most other "isms" - BUT when someone cannot make a few bitchy comments without risking legal action it has all gone a little too far in my opinion.
We have people being paid (in some cases) many tens of thousands of pounds in compensation for "hurt feelings" - when some poor sod loses his legs in an uninsured drink/drive accident and is lucky to get a few grand from the compensation board.
People are WAAAAAY to fragile these days. If you go "Boooo" loudly to someone now you are comitting assault (in Britain). If you smile nicely at someone in the office and they don't like you smiling they can do you for sexual harassment - same sort of nonsense.
If an adult needs to bellyache about being called "a nasty name" - it kind of suggests to me, that "fragile ego" is something of a massive understatement.

What on earth are these people complaining about!! There was/is no racism. The bullying that was shown is what you would expect in a school playground!!!! Those that enter the "house" are all adults and should behave as such. The mentality of the whole show say's it all!! It would appear that adults in a silly TV show, get MORE attention for bullying than children at school, where it IS mostly ignored.!! Shameful!! Discussing the issue in Parliament goes to show the mentality of this Government. Wasting taxpayers money in not on.!!!!
I was listening to someone from Race Relations this morning on the radio, according to him, there was no case to answer!!!!! The whole thing has been blown out of proportion!!!!

I would like to see an analysis of the types of people who phoned in to object. I imagine - mainly female - on the younger side - PC obsessed - indoctrinated by educationalists - those working in the field of discrimination. You get my drift. So, thousands objected. BUT MILLIONS DIDN'T.
Of course, as you suggest, it will do more harm to race relations. Because, the lefty/PC brigade who promote this sort of hysterical reaction do not understand human nature. That is why they make a total mess of everything they touch. If people want to be nasty to someone else, they always pick on the most obvious difference. For example, fatty, carrot head, specky four eyes. The law has NO BUSINESS being involved in trying to control peoples PERSONAL behaviour. All you achieve, is to cause even more frustration and resentment against that person, because they are seen as getting special treatment. THE LAW OF UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES.

Sadly, I have been watching the show. Yes there is a bullying issue and no it isn't anything to to with race.
Jade Goody was some sort of parton for a bullying society and they have now disowned her!
Every single thing that makes news these days has to be race or religion based and it is always negative.
I hope the world wakes up soon; Can't we all just get along?

to most indian audiences , what is happening in the CBB house is unacceptable , however , we Brits just see this as a bit of fun and it happens up and down the country every day so what is the big deal . When we were brought up through the 70s,80s and 90s we watched indian , chinese and blacks being ridiculed on the TV on a regular basis and nobody ever voiced any complaints , that could explain why the three english ladies involved in this racial bullying row do not realise their wrongdoings.

Most of the people that are complaining are probably not watching the show, this is just girls bitching about each other and it happens all the time, it is not because she is Indian, She is a very confident and beautiful girl who has more going for her than the other girls in there, this is totally normal (unfortunately).

I don't watch the show. But I have read about it and I have not read one racist quote.
Sounds like because the papers have no stories because nothing is happening in the house they have decided to write racist stories to get people to buy their papers.

Well as I just replied in a similar question, GMTV reported this morning that there had been thousands of complaints about bullying (which is happening) and A complaint about racist comments (i.e. ONE complaint). I'm sick of hearing about it!
