If you're in the UK then David Austin nurseries grow hundreds of varieties of old roses, the kind that are gorgeously scented. They supply to UK garden centres, look out for the large deep pots and the large David Austin label.

If you are in the UK then I saw a gardening programme where they went to a nursery in Yorkshire that sold vegetable seeds. It was called William Robinsons and Son. If you want ornamental plants and you know the name of them then try the RHS website. They have a plantfinder. That is the Royal Horticultural Society.
Good luck.

If you are a fan of the humble sweet pea, may I recommend Owl's Acre Sweet Peas (certinaly older varieties that Georgian) who do a wonderful range of Antique Sweet Peas which are highly scented, come in bicolours and flaked (stripey) varieties. I grew them with great success last year: good germination rate (with a 24hr soaking prior to sowing), excellent height (over 7ft!) and a good amount of flowers, providing you pick them regularly of course. Thirty seeds covered my sweet pea tree completley. They were placed in a South-Easterly facing bed in free draining soil.

Enjoy!

Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's home in Charlottesville, Virginia) sells seeds & plants from gathered from the estate grounds. They have an online shop where you can look up plants by zone, if you don't live in or near Virginia, and it looks like they can ship to just about anywhere . Here's the link :

Hope that helps!
