How many MBs are cut from my download limit when i view a webpage..say yahoo.com?
I have a 400 mb limit for my dsl...but the bill says i exceeded it by 2 gb and i have to pay extra.....i downloaded songs worth 300 mb....and i surf the net for around 3 hours everyday(chatting, wikipedia, youtube)....could it be possible that my bill is so huge? or is it spyware? i scanned my system with windows defender and adaware but its clean

Spyware didn't cause your problem.

First, you used 75% of your limit on music. You said that you are allowed 400mb and you used 300mb on music.

That leaves you with 100mb. Chatting, browsing wikipedia, and watching youtube for 3 hours everyday will quickly use up that 100mb.

If you want to know how big a page is, you need to choose File/Properties in Internet Explorer or Tools/Page Info in FireFox. It will tell you the page size in kilobytes. It does not account for images though.

It sounds like 400mb is far less that what you need. You should upgrade your download limit.

Never click OK on a popup. Just hit the X in the top right corner.

You've got SpyWare. You should have an anti-spyware solution on your computer. I recommend that you go to http://www.download.com and get AD-AWARE and SpyBot Search & Destory. Install, run, update and scan your computer with both programs.

These are cleanup tools. Ad-aware cleans files, and SpyBot cleans the registry.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

400mb limit is extremely low. the download buffer on youtube would kill that in a few days. Viewing webpages by themselves won't store much in your temporary files, the content on the webpages will do this though.

I think with youtube the videos are downloaded into an internet temp file. You might want to look into that.
