Couldn't agree more. I don't even bother watching anymore, it's gotten so lame. Back around the time of Stone Cold/The Rock/Mankind, WCW was still operating and ECW was still relevant.. Once the WWF officially bought out WCW and partnered with ECW, all the competition was gone and it's almost like they stopped trying with the storylines and such. Shame. Everything started going downhill when Moolah gave birth to a hand in like 2002-2003.. thats when I was like, oh hell no, there's gotta be something better to watch on Mondays and Thursdays. :-)

I dont even think it can be up for debate.

yeah, i've matched wrestling for 10 years now and i thought 97-2000 was the best, and in general wrestling didnt really suck until about 2004+
Like someone mentioned earlier, there was bad storylines. The kane banging corpses was bad, Droz trying to push an alcoholic road warrior off the titantron was bad, the invasion angle was wasted potential, and the ideas to bring in Scott Steiner, Nash, and Goldberg to do horrible title matches was bad.
But in general it was good. Even after rock and austin, there was HHH and Brock and a healthy Angle and Big Show, and active Undertaker, and a strong group of mid carders/young talent like Benoit/Eddie/Y2J/Christian/RVD/Rhino.

In the last 3 years all of a sudden, the big stars (cena, Lashley, Batista) are all mediocre, the legends are too old to wrestle often (HHH, HBK,Kane,Taker), the talent they do have are misused (shelton, matt Hardy, Benoit), and "the next generation" (Masters, Kennedy, MVP, Umaga, Carlito) dont look like they'll be ready for years, if ever (never for Umaga, MVP, Masters)

I think the company would be fine if they replaced the entire adminstration, and kept the mcmahons out as much as possible.

It was definitely better in those days. I think more than anything though, the fact that there is not any other major wrestling company to compete with, the creative juices have gone sour for the WWE writing staff and so they give us this junk that only a 10 yr old would find entertaining.

I like at both times for different reason the attitude era because how often can you turn on the tv to watch an employee beat up his boss and the coperation also the no chance in hell royal rumble one of the best royal rumbles in history, and these days with john cena with all the respect he shows to the fans and the business i also like batista the animal he works so hard and with dx and rivalries and when you have moments like there was at wrestlemania 20 with 2 best friend (eddie guerrero and chris benoit) stood in the middle of the ring with their championships held high and confetti falling you cannot buy moments like that

so what i am trying to say is i cannot choose between the two different times.

I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one. It's cool now, but how can you ever top The Rock and Stone Cold feud...The whole Invasion era was pretty good too when Vince bought WCW. Jeff Hardy Vs. RVD ladder match was great!

Yeah I agree. The invasion angle was boring and the Katie Vick storyline was one of the sickest thing I heard of for a family show.
I don't care about wwe anymore.

I used to keep buying the games, just for something to play but once I found out about the way they made Nora Greenwald (molly holly) feel uncomfy about her body (in real life) I decided that Vince McMahon is not getting another penny of my money.

The fact that she was really feeling ugly and crying when she got home was horrible and the way Vince wouldn't stop the "fat molly" angle because he said that was good for the storyline that she believed that about herself, showed he was just about his money.

That put me off wwe for life.

Westling was better when it was WWF and had DX, The Ministry, The Coperation, The Oddies, and of course The Nation Of Domination.
