My husband and I love our cat dearly as everyone who attended our wedding knows ... so instead of favors, we put cards on the table saying in lieu of flowers, we have put money aside in your name to have our cat cloned.

Most guests were in an uproar at the wedding, but I thought it would pass and they would get over it.

I think they may be upset because they have a pretty good idea that we are going to put the money from the wedding towards cloning our cat.

But it is our money, and we should be able to do what we want with it, right? I'm really hurt that most people won't even talk to us!

We think it's a debatable issue, but our decision as to how to use the money.

What is your opinion?

I haven't had anything to do with the people who meddled in my wedding since the day I was married. You can use money anyway you wish. If you want to clone the cat then do so! If you do what someone else wants you to do, you will regret it. It is not up to them. It is up to you.

I'm not sure if you are serious or not, but others seem to think you are. I am not aware of any pet cloning programs right now, so this is why I have my suspicions. That being said...

As other people stated, party favors are for the guests. Some may have been upset because they believe cloning is wrong; that you are playing God. So this may have personally upset some of your guests.

You should have saved the money for any children you might have, because they need to go to college. I hope you have some, and shake this silly infatuation with your cat. The education and well being of any future children should take priority over your cat! Have the cat freeze dried when it dies, so it looks just like it is sleeping. This can be done, and it is a real service. You could keep cloning your cat forever, but you will never keep it's personality. Good luck!

You do realize that the cat is not going to be a carbon copy of your original cat. Sharing the same DNA does not fully determine personality.

As mentioned before the place that actually does the cloning has shut down anyhow so you may have a long wait to clone your cat.

My final though is that asking for cash at a wedding is tacky. Asking directly for something implies that there is an expectation of gifts, it also is a very personal thing as you know exactly how much each person contributed. It puts your guests in an uncomfortable position. They are there to celebrate your union, not fundraise to have mittens copied.

Death is a natural part of life, and your cloned cat will be very similar to your original one, but it will not be the same. Perhaps you should get another, cats are fun, most of them. It's a lot of money to get something close to what you had, I own 2 cats myself, but I don't think I'd clone one if it died (well, maybe 'Three Legs', but I wonder if the clone would have 3 or 4 legs....)

From a cat lover's standpoint: I understand which you adore your cat yet i do no longer think of that cloning is the thank you to bypass. i do no longer think of we are in a position to anticipate each and every of the subject concerns cloning ought to reason and that i would not decide to place an animal via any soreness purely because of the fact i could no longer action picture previous the demise of my final puppy. there are maximum of amazing animals that choose residences, evaluate adopting a puppy. in case you misplaced your puppy you need to nonetheless do something of their reminiscence, I purely don't think cloning is the respond. i think of giving this wedding ceremony desire on your travelers became an incredibly ambitious pass and that i think of it incredibly is life like that some have been upset (it is an incredibly delicate project). i'm hoping even with the undeniable fact that that your acquaintances and kinfolk can pass previous it as your wedding ceremony is a definite occasion and that they shouldn't concentration on the "negatives". additionally , in the top , it is your cash and that i do no longer think of everyone could desire to enable you already know methods to spend it. good success sooner or later

I used to be pro-cloning but then I realized so many cats are destroyed while trying to clone your cat. Also, there are so many kittens that need a good home. I love cats and have three.

Plus, the place that used to clone cats is out of business os it is a moot point for awhile.

Maybe it has to do with the fact that most people give money for you to start your life in marriage on a good footing. They expect you to use the money for things for your home together. I would be po'd too! You want to clone your cat, use your money, not gifts to pay for it!

My opinion is that it is your money and your cat and if you want to clone it and can afford it go for it.

I would clone my cats if i was able.

Cloning is wrong..wrong, wrong, wrong. I can understand why you'd want to do so, since you love your cat so much and all..but lord have mercy, let the cat have kittens or something..cloning ain't right..no matter how you try to justify it!..
