As much as I love fruit and veggies, I know what you mean - they can be rather blah when they stand alone. My tried-and-true method of mixing things up is to find something that the fruit or veggie pairs well with. Bananas - not much fun on their own, right? Well, if you slice it up and place a tablespoon of all-natural peanut butter on a plain rice cake and then place the bananas on top of the peanut butter, then you have a yummy snack that has good fats and good sugars. Another way I like to eat them is to slice them into a bowl and sprinkle a bit of sugar on them. Pour on some milk and there you have it. Hummus - the BEST dip known to man. Forget ranch and soup-pack mixes. This is delicious and nutritious. Dip baby carrots, broccoli, red or green pepper strips, cucumbers or pita bread in it. You can't go wrong. Dried fruit - its not just the so-sugary-its-white stuff that you see around the holidays anymore. Craisins, raisins, prunes and other various dried fruit will satisfy your sweet tooth w/o packing on calories. These can be nibbled on their own. Berries - berry combos are amazing because they're pretty endless. Grab a handful of your favorite berries and blend with some ice and orange juice for a great smoothie. If you eat yogurt, you could blend the yogurt with the berries instead of the juice.

I can't remember last time I was sick that I couldn't eat... I don't need much normally -I eat only one meal a day, no I don't snack much, and feel fine with that- but I never lose my appetite for food altogether. I like eating spicy foods when I have a cold, it clears my sinusses!
