You should have asked the doctor how she knew that... Ask her the next time you see her. The only way I can think of for her to say that would be by the position of the fetus but I would think that would be a guess not a fact.

My baby came from my right ovavry. Doctor was able to tell because of the cyst that had developed on that ovary. Everytime a woman releases an egg this happens.

I've never had a doctor tell me what ovary the egg came from. That's alittle odd to me. They common things they tell you during the ultrasounds are if the baby is gaining weight, size and my favor part... BOY OR GIRL???

I believe that the ovary where the egg came from forms a cyst called a corpus luteum which secretes hormones until the placenta is formed. He may have been able to detect this on the ultrasound. Cool!

How interesting. I am doing my studies on becoming a Doula this morning and now you really gave me something to look up.
Thank you..really thank you. Sometimes the same old same old makes it hearder for me to stay on task.
But before I do the search i think I am going to take a guess: Maybe they can tell because the size of the ovary or by the plantation of the fetus.
Either way congrat

Yes my little one came from my left. They are able to tell because that ovary is slightly bigger and swollen. apparently every month one ovary releases eggs and it switches to the other one the next month. That is how my doctor explained it to me.

The only way she could possibly tell is is if your right ovary is blocked or something. After in plantation there is no way to tell this because the embryo could implant anywhere in the uterus.
