In the later episodes, Almonzo runs into an old girlfriend who has just released a song titled "My Only Love." He writes it down on a piece of paper with the girl's name. Laura finds it and thinks that Almonzo is cheating. She leaves and goes to her parents house and Almonzo is left to fend for himself in the kitchen. Covered with flour he answers the door where Mrs. Olsen (the busybody) is completely delighted to find that Laura has left Almonzo and calls up everyone she knows to tell them the news.
Also, the first episode where Nelly Olsen calls Laura and Mary "country girls" and Mrs. Olsen insults Caroline by not letting her select the material she wants but the material that Mrs. Olsen thinks is most suitable for working on a farm.

Christmas at Plum Creek.
It is a beautiful story of love. The sacrifice Laura makes for her mother is very touching.
