You can only add files, songs, pictures with SD cards. The usb ports are used for periferal devices, such as the wired ethernet adapter.

I have no idea. All I know is that they work.
How? I once charged a usb cord in to charge the ps3 controller.

I don't know, nintendo these days is making things that you won't use for anything other than throwing it at the garbage can. Nintendo should become into a garbage pickup company because everyone is gonna be throwing their wii's to the garbage because they are such bad systems.
