I didn't know my patenal grandparents. They died before I was born.

My maternal grandparents didn't like children and would lock us out in the backyard whenever we came to visit. That included on Thanksgiving day. I didn't think much about it then. I just assumed everybody's grandparents locked them in the backyard, too.

Well, let me tell you...

When I was about 4 or 5 years old my mother had a mental breakdown and had to be institutionalized. My father upped and left and my grandparents were left to raise me. They didn't have a lot of money all through my childhood but tried to provide me with the best that they could. They loved me as if I were their own. They did an excellent job raising me, I feel, and I think they were wonderful grandparents. My grandfather died in 1989 and my mom died in 1994. My grandmother died in 1995. I miss them terribly sometimes but I think that overall being raised by my grandparents was a very positive experience in my life. So to answer your question. I had sweet nice grandparents.

My grandparents on my mothers side were alcoholics and every week end I stay there when they got home from the bar I would get to drink with them (I started drinking with them around the age of 9) And my grandparents on my dad's side well they were always really old and didn't really like us when we were young at least that's how it seemed.

Both sets of my Grandparents lived in Europe, so we didn't get to see them a lot. They were all very sweet people though.

♥ My grandparents are sweet and kind. They would do anything for me and my family If we needed anything. But I have to admit that some of my family members have said some stories about them and how they treat people who isn't their family. I don't know if they are true but I hope they aren't

No my grandparents love children. One of my fondest childhood memories is visiting my grandparents every week and reading with my Grandpa.

I never knew any of my grandparents. They were all deceased by the time I was born. I wish I knew what it was like to have a grandma or grandpa.

I have one set of both. My mom's parents were great, and my dad's dad was the best grandpa, but his mom, my grandma was very uncomfortable around us. I really don't even know why she had kids to begin with! After my parents got divorced, the only time I would even hear from my dad's parents was when my grandpa snuck away to call or email me. It's like that still. Very bizarre.

I had pretty nice grandparents. My grandmother could cook like no ones business, my grandfather liked to watch t.v. and sleep on the front room floor which aggravated my grandmother.
All and all they were pretty great.

That is one thing that I truly regret. All of my grandparents, except for one step-grandmother, who was VERY old had died before my sister and I were born.

We never knew them.

Heard good reports from our older brother and sister, though...
