Don't complain about gangs turf wars, or about 80% of crazed burglars breaking into your house, or about 80% of street muggings, or about of the cost of warehousing our drug related offenders who are about 80% of all people in jail.
Don't curse the maffia whose "right to profit" and grow you greatly enhance with our "War on Drugs".
Don't cry over our dead soldiers in Afghanistan killed with the profits of the poppy crops that filled the coffers of the Taliban and Al Qaeda. Just try going to sleep with that conscience

amen.

The government has no right to make moral decisions for free adults. We have laws against dui, and underage consumption. that's enough.

What difference does it make if kids are getting 'letters from drs' to get pot? Minors are still drinking and smoking, too. Do we go back to prohibition, or do we decide to live free and take responsiblity for our own children? Since when is it the responsibilty of the government to raise my kids? Never!

If all drugs were legal and controlled like cig. and liquer that would put the hood boys out of business and what would motivate the mafia then? How far would the taxes go to relieve the country's debt? What about the jobs legalized drugs would create? How many real crimes would be solved if police were free to chase real criminals instead of pop making him and ma a little meth so they can have some fun? or work longer? or just because they like it?

The government's job is not to opress it's citizens. It's job is to provide a way that all citizens can pursue happiness, life, and liberty. They legalized alcohol, yet they created laws to protect minors and motorist. What happened to the crime rate and prohibition was repealed? Do you ever hear of mob or gang type crime in relation to 'running shine' anymore? Are people attempting to make liquer in their backyards, basements, bathrooms or fields and blowing themselves up?

Has anyone thought of the connection between the war on drugs and sudden influx of illegals in this country? Did anyone know that there are only 7 plants that make ephedrine in the world and that the biggest buyer is now Mexico? Their consumption went from somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 million tons to 53 million tons over the last few years? (I may have to research those figures again, if anyone has any links please post.) Am I the only one who sees the line connecting those dots?

No government is going to be successful in seperating people from their vices. These laws are made by politicians trying to appease the special interest groups and win elections and I don't give a damn if there's an R or a D in front of, or behind their names. I don't know of a public official who is outwardly for the repeal of all laws against drugs.

Prostitution is another law that needs to be repealed. But that's another subject.

Yes, I have seen how decriminilization has helped out in California. Now people under 17 are buying pot because they have a note from their doctor. You do not even have to be 18.

Another thing, the Taliban had nearly eradicated the poppy plantations.
