I read there were 8 million people playing that game. What's so great about it? What's the point of the game, etc.?

Ive been playing the game for 2 years now and just got the expansion yesterday. Its a MMORPG which means you get to play with a lot of people around the world. What makes this game different is the characters look like cartoons which people who have been playing for a while, call their characters "toons". You do quests, and you gain experience. You can raid dungeons with large groups of people and you can also pvp which means you can kill people of the opposing faction. There are two factions, the horde and the alliance. Both sides have awesome mounts..i.e. horses, wolves, etc that you can ride on. Its a very addicting game, it caused a lot of people to lose their jobs, friends, relationships etc. So if you were to try it out, take this warning into heart. Once you start playing, you won't want to get up from your computer. You will dream about the game, you will think about the game all the time. Its sad I know, but its true.

Go play and find out. Like most RPGs alone, it is highly addicting and holes huge reply value. Also, at the same time having a huge world to explore and continue on with original quests and other activities a new expansion pack. What is so great about the other games that have over 8 million players playing it? It is great, people enjoy it, it is obviously fun and highly entertaining. WoW is just that, but with a better level of interactivity.

It's an online role playing game. You have a character and you have to kill things and do quests to reach the highest level (now 70) and get better gear.
The cool thing about the game is that you interact with millions of people from all around the world. It's never boring!
But it's addictive. I'm taking a hiatus from it currently because I wasn't getting anything else done.

Well its a MMORPG witch means they can play with people they have never met before and grow there Char online.
Its really just a big Time sucker and $$ waster but if you want find out why people like it so much ether go to Gamespot.com and surch WOW or go to the WOW website and download 1 week free demo.

South Park was a great advertisement for the game. That's why it's so popular now; even if it was big before.
