Just use the freeware editions

Running Adware or Spyware is good BUT try looking in the add or remove programmes section of the control panel. Becareful you don't uninstall anything important. But look for programmes such as ZONE MEDIA. You will know you are on the right track if it asks for a code before you remove it. (Like the ones when you create an email account, a picture of some text you have to replicate) Remove the media programme and you should be ok.

Yes spyware or adware could do it. But, I have seen a virus or two act the same way. Trends Micro offers a free online virus and spyware scan to remove these. Once they are removed, I would suggest either using Microsoft Defender, Spybot Search and Destroy, and a better virus scanner. I have tested Norton, McAfee, and several others and Trend Micro has caught more trojan horses (that the others missed) so it is my virus protection of choice! I have links to all these on my web site. http://got.to/fixmycomputer and select repair. Good luck!

Go to Panda Software's site and download a 30 day trial of their Anti-Virus and Anti-Adware Software. Titanium is the least expensive, while Platinum (or I think they call it 'Internet Security' now) also includes a Web Filter - I like the web filter for keeping my kids off porn, gambling and social networking sites like MySpace.

these pop ups are already in your system
so your pop up blocker won't stop them.
you need to download an ante spyware remover.

spybot search and destroy is a great free download
it will remove all these pop ups from your computer
download it then run search for updates before
you do your first scan

You definitely need another program to catch these pop ups that are bypassing your computer' s installed program. Some of them are stubborn.
