If it's the one from the recent commercials, it's Dirty White Boy, and I THINK Foreigner was the recording artist..
Also: I might be wrong but I think the theme in the opening credits is from Faith no More, "We Care A Lot"..

Mike Rowe used to be an opera singer, but I don't think he sings the official theme song. He and a crewmember were fooling around on tape once and made up a song for D.J. but it's not the one Discovery uses for the show.
