GRE, stands for Graduate record Exam.

So it is require for any graduate studies now a days.

In USA, first medical degree is MD, certain state were allowing MBBS to practise medicine on probation basis provided they complete the licence exam and pass them before the probation expires but I think that may not be true any more.

Do a state to state search for this, there are states that do not have medical schools so they may still take people from other countries with slightly different qualifications.
