England if I choose to, based on the fact that I have an English parent? And in fact, is it also true that I could stay indefinitely if I so choose?

You needn't worry, if I do make this decision, I am not at all like they stereotypes you have of us Americans - loud, obnoxious, arrogant, etc.

And would I have a rough go of it if I went round admitting that I am bored to tears by what you call football over there? lol

Of course I know that I would need a visa... what I'm asking is - is it a pro-forma application that will automatically be approved because of my English parent, and is it an indefinite visa, or time-limited?
