Do answers from internet survey sites provide a good indicator of what the public knows?

There are a lot of ignorant people with computers out here!

You have to look at the demographics of the people that use a particular site to get a good answer to your question. If the site has good representation of the population then yes. Generally though, internet surveys are skewed.

Like any survey it is only representative of the people that answer. You also have to factor in that many many people still don't have computers or the internet. Its a bit like tv ratings. We all don't get a say so they are not true of what all people actually like to watch.
