I thought that Gerber baby food would have basically been organic you know since theres no pesticides and all of that and its made from the "finest ingredients" so whats with the new organic line? Whats the difference?

"Organic" refers less to pesticides these days and more to generic artificial additives. With the new 'organic' baby food, it's basically saying that there is NOTHING but fruits or veggies or rice or whatever in the food itself.

I believe the regular Gerber baby food has preservatives added intothem, and I am guessing the Organic line doesn't!

good question. it is very confusing. u got to remember that they are bullsh****** when they say they have the finest ingredients. they add alot of preservatives and other chemicals to the baby food so that they can keep the food from going bad. i am so sure they need to add chemicals to the organic food to keep it fresh too. i don't see how they can puree fruits, vegetable and chicken and keep it unrefrigerated and not add any chemicals.

i wouldn't worry about it too much. i fed my son the gerber stuff and he is fine.

organic certified stamp meaning they know where it came from and what was used on the fruits and veggies.

I liked this site knowing nothing else was cooked in there kitchen.

But I used gerber or made my own from fresh veggies/fruit and a blender.

Foods aren't organic unless they are CERTIFIED organic.

I'm guessing that it has no pesticides and no artificial ingredients either...
